Walking Bradford’s underground beck

The Broadway

The Broadway sponsors Marking Bradford Beck

The Broadway stands directly above a culvert through which the Bradford Beck runs. Throughout planning and construction Westfield and Meyer Bergman worked closely with Friends of Bradford’s Becks to ensure the heritage of the beck could be protected and emphasised through the development of The Broadway.

Three plaques now sit along The Broadway’s malls, with one welcoming visitors from Market Square onto Eastbrook Mall. These plaques marking the path of what was once a well used river, visibly running through the centre of Bradford.

Meyer Bergman and Westfield, through the construction of The Broadway, were delighted to support Friends of Bradford’s Beck in their plans to mark the route of a watercourse of such historical importance to Bradford, and everyone at The Broadway is delighted that Bradford Beck’s route is now visible for all visitors of The Broadway to see.
